Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, what types of cookies Obscura Flux places on your device when you visit obscuraflux.com (the “Site”), why we use them, and how you can control them. Please read this policy in conjunction with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work correctly and efficiently, to improve user experience, and to provide information to the operators of the site. Cookies may be set either by the website you are visiting directly (“first-party cookies”) or by third-party organisations whose services that website uses (“third-party cookies”).

Cookies do not typically contain information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in or obtained from cookies. Cookies remain on your device for different lengths of time depending on their type — see Section 3 for details.

Technologies similar to cookies — such as web beacons, pixel tags, and local storage objects — may also be used on the Site and are covered by this policy. For simplicity, all such technologies are referred to collectively as “cookies” throughout this document.

2. How We Use Cookies

Obscura Flux uses cookies to achieve the following objectives:

  • To ensure the Site operates correctly: Certain cookies are essential to the technical functioning of the Site and cannot be switched off without breaking core features.
  • To remember your preferences: Cookies allow the Site to remember choices you have made — such as your cookie consent preference — so you are not prompted repeatedly.
  • To analyse how visitors use the Site: Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are most visited, how long visitors stay, what content attracts the most interest, and where visitors come from. This information is used in aggregate to improve the Site.
  • To improve the relevance of content: Functionality cookies allow us to personalise certain aspects of the Site based on your browsing behaviour on the Site itself.

We do not use cookies to deliver targeted advertising or to track your activity across unrelated third-party websites. We do not sell cookie-derived data to any third party.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Site to function and cannot be disabled in our systems. They are typically set only in response to actions you take — such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or completing an enquiry form. Without these cookies, parts of the Site cannot be delivered.

Duration: Session (deleted when you close your browser) or up to 12 months for preference storage.

Examples: Cookie consent preference storage; session continuity tokens.

3.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies

These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Site, including which pages visitors go to most often, and whether they receive error messages. All information collected by these cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous. These cookies do not collect information that identifies individual visitors.

Duration: Typically 24 hours to 2 years depending on the specific cookie.

Examples: Page view counts; session duration; entry and exit pages; browser and device type.

3.3 Functionality Cookies

These cookies allow the Site to remember choices you make in order to provide a more personalised experience. For instance, they may be used to remember your preferred language or to record whether you have dismissed certain on-screen notices. The information these cookies collect may be anonymised and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.

Duration: Typically 30 days to 12 months.

Examples: Language preference; dismissed-notice flags.

3.4 Third-Party Cookies

In some cases, third-party services that we use to enhance the Site may set their own cookies on your device. These third-party cookies are subject to the respective third party's privacy and cookie policies, and we do not control their placement, duration, or behaviour. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any third-party services we integrate comply with applicable data protection law.

Third-party services currently in use that may set cookies include web analytics platforms. We do not integrate social media plugins or advertising networks that set tracking cookies.

4. Cookie Consent

When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner is displayed at the bottom of the screen informing you of our use of cookies. The banner presents two options:

  • Accept: You consent to the use of all cookies described in this policy, including performance, analytics, and functionality cookies. A cookie is set to record your consent so you are not shown the banner again for 12 months.
  • Decline: Only strictly necessary cookies will be set. Performance, analytics, and functionality cookies will not be placed on your device. A cookie is still set to record your preference so you are not repeatedly shown the banner.

You may change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies (which will remove the stored preference and show the banner again on your next visit) or by contacting us using the details in Section 10.

5. Cookie Duration: Session vs. Persistent

Cookies on the Site fall into two categories by duration:

  • Session cookies: These cookies are temporary and are deleted from your device automatically when you close your browser. They are used to maintain the continuity of your experience during a single visit.
  • Persistent cookies: These cookies remain on your device until their expiry date or until you delete them manually. They are used to remember your preferences and settings across multiple visits to the Site. The maximum duration of any persistent cookie we set is 24 months.

6. How to Manage and Delete Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in a number of ways. Please note that removing or blocking certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Site, and some features may not work as intended.

6.1 Browser Settings

All major web browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies through the browser's settings or preferences menu. The following links provide guidance for the most widely used browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

Please consult your browser's help documentation for full details, as menu locations vary between browser versions.

6.2 Mobile Device Settings

On mobile devices, you can manage cookie settings through the privacy controls in your device's operating system or within the individual browser application. Steps vary by device manufacturer and operating system version; please refer to your device manual or manufacturer's support pages.

6.3 Third-Party Opt-Out Tools

For analytics cookies set by third-party platforms, you may also use the opt-out mechanisms provided by those platforms directly. These typically involve installing a browser add-on or visiting an opt-out page hosted by the third-party service.

7. Cookies and Personal Data

Some cookies we use are associated with personal data (for example, if you contact us by email, a session cookie may be used to maintain your session while you submit the enquiry form). Where cookies are used in connection with personal data, the processing of that data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Analytics cookies are configured to anonymise IP addresses before they are processed, meaning that no individually identifiable information is transmitted to our analytics service. Aggregate reports generated from analytics data do not identify individual users.

8. Cookies on Linked External Sites

The Site may contain links to external websites that are not operated by us. If you follow a link to any of these sites, please be aware that those websites have their own cookie policies and privacy practices for which we are not responsible. We encourage you to review the cookie policy of any external site you visit before accepting or interacting with its cookies.

9. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the services we use, or requirements imposed by applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are using cookies.

If we make material changes to the types of cookies we use or the purposes for which we use them, we will display a renewed cookie consent banner so that you have the opportunity to review and update your preferences.

10. Contact Us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, or wish to exercise any rights in relation to the personal data processed through cookies, please contact us:

We aim to respond to all cookie-related enquiries within 30 calendar days of receipt.
